Specialized Premature Ovarian Insufficiency Clinic is recently initiated and is held once in every three months at the infertility clinic of ICMR National Institute for Research in Reproductive and Child Health, Parel, Mumbai. It is multidisciplinary clinic dedicated to addressing Premature Ovarian Insufficiency (POI). This clinic, brings together a team of specialized experts to comprehensively assess and manage women diagnosed with POI.

The clinic is staffed by a team of distinguished specialists, each contributing their expertise to ensure a holistic approach to POI management. The core team includes Dr. Deepti Tandon and Dr. Anushree Patil, both Gynecologists, Dr. Raheesh Ravindrum, a Clinical Immunologist, Dr. Shailesh Pandey, a Genetic Expert, Dr. Bhenki, an IVF Expert and Dr Shaini Joseph Basic Scientist. The team is further supported by Mrs. Anamika Akule and Mrs Shobha Bange.

Together, we aim to address the unique challenges faced by women with POI, with a particular focus on immunological, genetic, and fertility-related aspects of the condition. The primary objectives of the clinic include a comprehensive evaluation of clinical features in women diagnosed with POI. This includes an in-depth analysis of age at diagnosis, menstrual history,estrogen deficiency symptoms at presentation, and associated comorbidities. The clinic also strives to identify the prevalence and types of common genetic mutations and autoimmune disorders among women with POI.

In addition to the medical assessments, the clinic recognizes the importance of understanding the psychological effects of POI in women. Special attention is given to exploring the emotional and mental well-being of patients, recognizing the impact of the diagnosis on their overall quality of life.

Furthermore, the clinic conducts research to investigate how genetic mutations, autoimmune disorders, and psychological effects collectively influence the quality of life of women with POI.
